Bellaire Lake Campground

This is our #1 campground so far — and it absolutely earns that title. One of the most beautiful places we've ever camped, with a stunning lake, incredible wildflowers, tons of recreation, and the highest elevation we've experienced. Fair warning: you do have to drive a dirt road to get there, but don't let that scare you — it's hard-packed, clear of overhead trees, double-width for larger rigs, and very manageable. Just be prepared for a steep climb! It's first come, first served, which is a gamble, so check the park rules board when you arrive (we included a photo of it!). The dark skies at night are absolutely jaw-dropping. Come prepared for altitude and you will not be disappointed.
