Our Review

Big Rig Friendly? Absolutely! Mt. Desert Narrows was one of the easiest campgrounds we've navigated during our New England trip. The roads were wide enough for our 40-foot fifth wheel, sites were easy to access, and getting in and out of the campground was stress-free. If you're traveling with a large RV, this is one campground you can confidently add to your list. Location The location couldn't have been better. Situated just north of Bar Harbor, we found it to be the perfect home base for exploring Acadia National Park while still being close to Ellsworth for groceries, fuel, restaurants, and other everyday necessities. Another huge bonus is the Island Explorer, Acadia's free shuttle system. You can leave your vehicle at camp and ride the shuttle throughout Bar Harbor and into Acadia National Park, making sightseeing incredibly easy during the busy summer months.
